Ö Introduction to the Company:
Studies on ostrich production and breeding were first initiated in the Agricultural Jihad Ministry in 1997 by conducting research and economic justification plans. By establishing Rozan Ostrich International Company in 2000, the work was carried out more seriously and consequently, when the Shares of the company were purchased by Rey Investment Company and by establishing the International Company for the Research and Breeding Ostrich in Iran, the task was undertaken in a professional and specialized way. The experts of the Company were then dispatched to South Africa and Zimbabwe in 2001 and for the first time, a party of this bird was imported consisting 150 day old chicks and 100 eggs of 35 days old (hot egg). In 2002, two other parties of pure blue neck and pure black neck ostriches were imported from South Africa.
Ö Perspective and Goals:
- Establishing and complete different sections of farm number 2, including hatchery, chick room, chick rearing, fattening, pre-breeder sites and completion of breeders" site.
- identifying the highly productive breeders and omit low productive ostrich to increase production output
- obtaining utilization license for 40 productive ostriches for farm number 2
- establishing large ostrich farms with respect to the existing facilities and relatively some views on entrepreneurship
- developing the farm in 2008 by importing 300 productive chicks from South Africa.
- establishing ostrich park with investment and participation of another private firm
- obtaining foreign agency for importing and distributing of ostrich incubators
- importing Australian ostrich chick (Emu)
- marketing the products and preparing grounds to export the products
- improving the culture for using ostrich meat and supplying ostrich meat products inside the country
- defining the after-sale-services for ostrich bird applicants
- defining a management agreement system for ostrich farms.

In production sector:
- receiving management of Khojir Ostrich Farm and its inventory from Rozan company in 2005
- building phase Number one of farm number 2, including fencing the farm and ostrich breeder places
- Transferring of approximately 300 ostrich from Khojir farm to Bijin farm (farm number 2) at the beginning of 2007
- reaching the significant records in Iran in terms of decreasing fertility and death of ostriches in both race: blue neck: 8.2 percent and black neck: 5.6 percent
- Changes made in slaughter line of Zargoosht slaughterhouse for ostrich slaughtering and achieving the first permission of ostrich slaughtering from veterinary organization of Iran.

In products and marketing:
Although at present, the major sale of large farms is selling chicken or live ostrich, in order to complete the production and supply cycles, now it is necessary to improve the culture and find the market for ostrich products. In this respect the future policy of this company is to develop a fundamental and long term view in this industry and establishing slaughter system, processing and selling products as soon as possible. Concerning the ostrich slaughter, the task was started in Zargoosht slaughterhouse (one of the group companies) and so far, products of ostrich meat such as sausage, salami, hamburger and canned meat have been produced for local market and leather products such as bag, shoes, and wallet …have been made as samples for exporting.
